Brainbench offers four Linux certifications for administrators and programmers. There are two general, vendor neutral certifications: Linux Administration and Linux Programming. They also offer two, vendor-specific Linux Administrator certifications focused on the SuSE and Red Hat implementations. Brainbench exams are offered on-line and allow the use of reference materials.
Brainbench Linux Administration (General)
The Linux Administration (General) exam covers knowledge of the key issues and concepts of administering in a Linux environment. The exam, which is designed for experienced system administrators, includes the following topics: Configuration and Administration, General Issues, Installation, Networking, System Administration and Security, and Transitioning from Windows.
To gain the Brainbench Linux Administration (General) you must pass one exam. The letters listed on the right hand side of the exam description refer to the HOTT courses relevant for that exam.

Brainbench Linux Administration (SuSE)
The Linux Administration (SuSE) exam covers knowledge of the SuSE
implementation of Linux. This exam is designed for experienced administrators,
and includes the following topics: Administration, Installation/Configuration,
and Security.
To gain the Brainbench Linux Administration (SuSE) you must pass one exam. The letters listed on the right hand side of the exam description refer to the HOTT courses relevant for that exam.
